Description
Paint set of 8 Model Air colours in 17 ml. for painting aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm (FAA) of the British fleet, for land-based aircraft as well as for aircraft, British or American, embarked on carriers from 1939 until the end of the War.
Contents:
- Extra Dark Sea Grey (BS 640): Upper surface colour combined with Dark Slate Grey (Temperate Sea Scheme) from 1937 until the end of the war, for all types of aircraft and missions.
- Dark Slate Grey (BS 634): Upper surface colour combined with Dark Sea Grey (Temperate Sea Scheme) from the end of 1937 until the end of the war, for all types of aircraft and missions.
- Dark Sea Grey (BS 638): Upper surface colour of the lower wing of biplanes, combined with Light Slate Grey (Shadow Scheme) until the end of 1940. For all kinds of aircraft and missions.
- Light Slate Grey (BS 639): Upper surface colour of the lower biplane wings, combined with Dark Sea Grey (Shadow Scheme) until the end of 1940. For all kinds of aircraft and missions.
- Sky Grey (FS 36463): Lower surface and sides, alone or combined with Night Black or Night Black/White, from 1937 until the beginning of 1941. Also used for numbers, codes and fuselage stripes.
- Sky Type S (BS 210): Color used on sides and the lower surface of aircraft, from March 1941 until the end of the war, also for numbers, codes and fuselage stripes.
- Night Black (BS 642): Lower colour combined with Sky Grey/White from October 1939 to February 1940, with Sky Grey from November 1940 to January 1941, or only by itself in different periods for special night missions.
- White (FS 37875): Colour used for lower surface and lateral sections of the plane starting in 1942 for anti-submarine missions or ASW.
