Description

Based on the battle proven Panzer III hull, replacing the turret with an armoured superstructure containing a more powerful gun; the 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48. It had a crew of four – commander, driver, gunner & loader.

The StuG III was second only to the Sd.Kfz 251 Hanomag as Germany’s most produced fighting vehicle of WWII. Over 10,000 were built during the war with 300 Ausf B versions built between June 1940 & May 1941. The Ausf B was the first mass produced version of the StuG III and saw extensive action in the Balkans and in Operation Barbarossa.
